The Great and Powerful Theme Reveal

A2Z Theme Reveal--Badge

{ Click image to visit the Theme Reveal blog-hop. }

Today is the day, boys and girls.

We pull back the curtain and make our announcements. This is when we reveal to the world our AtoZ Challenge Theme.

Just gotta climb up on this stage and I will be right with you… I seem to be missing a microphone, but have no shortage of clowns running around here. What a strange circus this is!

Preamble:

If you are unsure just what the flip I am talking about, you should probably stop ogling the high-wire performers and visit the official April AtoZ Challenge page to get with the program.

Can you post every day except Sundays during this month? And to up the bar, can you blog thematically from A to Z?

The answer to this question is YES.

YES, I CAN.

F Clown Alphabet Individual LetterI know so, because I have done the AtoZ Challenge before. I did not do it very well, but success usually has much to do with the act of completion and seldom reflects skill.

Besides, I have to contend with dancing bears and disappearing hot air balloons.

THIS IS A CIRCUS, REMEMBER?

Ain’t nobody got time for things like that so-called “decent blogging” nonsense.

Don’t send in the clowns!

Speaking of “decent blogging”, my posts in the coming days will likely be shorter than normal. Participants of the AtoZ Challenge are not only NOT encouraged, but are actively Discouraged, from being overly wordy. Which is a polite way of saying STFU. I’m fine with that. My posts had been getting a bit cumbersome of late, so this will be a great exercise in toning things down a bit. While the challenge staffers recommend keeping posts at fewer than 500 words, I’m aiming to stay under 750.

U Clown Alphabet Individual LetterI mean, let’s not go crazy here, you guys.

Get back in that clown car!

I will also be posting an F-bomb word-count at the top of each post this month, and you will likely notice that I have reigned in my inner little cuss-ball. Since there are some gawdly people visiting my home, I will keep the GDs and JCs to a minimum.

But be warned – I do not scrub toilets. If you sprinkle when you tinkle, I suggest you learn how to wipe the seat.

Okay! I think we have heard enough from the bearded lady. Let’s bring out the guest of honor:

Tell us your theme!

Yes, Andi-Roo… WTF are you writing about this year? Inquiring minds and inquisitive cats want to know.

WRITING IN GENERAL, AND MY WORK-IN-PROGRESS IN PARTICULAR.

Well, okay, then.

I will update this “Landing Page” with all the links as I post throughout the month.

[***EDIT: Dates reflect when the post was supposed to appear as opposed to actual publish date, due to the fact that I suck, and I fell several days behind. #NoRegrets #SorryNotSorry #YOLO #FML***]

I have been visiting other sites to see what I am in store for in April. What an eclectic mix! Several are blogging under the theme “Random” which is just a fun way of announcing that they do not, in fact, have a theme after all. I did that once.

*shudders*

It was a bad year. Never going there again. So hats off to bloggers brave enough to dive in sans theme!

It is not too late to sign up for this hectic ride, so feel free to join the fun.Be sure to visit the other participants. There is a lot of fun stuff out there. Here is  if you want to see who I’m making time for this month.

I hear one of the tents even has some zombies lurking about.

ZOMBIES, you guys.

  • Are you participating in the AtoZ Challenge this year?
  • Do you have a theme? What is it?
  • How about this “hop within a hop” business, eh?

Finally! I can post comments on your stuff! Don't know WHAT was up with that. I shall be reading every new post you write this April. I shall also comment on said posts. Because now I can. :P

Also, THREE FOR F-BOMBS! I shall also submit a vote on Andrew's behalf and one for Watson's. So, FIVE FOR F-BOMBS! Although, Watson is so amazing and cat-tastic, that his vote should really count for two. Just sayin'.

Can't wait to see the writing stuff, Andi Roo. And as for the f-bomb, I say BRING IT! lol!

Is it wrong that I'm equally intrigued by the promise of an F-bomb word count as I am of the actual content? Should be fun stuff in April. See you then. :)

Andi! I wondered when I was going to see your post on the Great Theme Reveal! I love your topic! Last year, I made a spreadsheet with all the letters in one row, and the topics in the columns, like I was going to hand it in to Arlee Bird for a grade or something. My topics that I had chosen promptly went out the window at letter "B" when I wrote about the Great One himself (Beethoven) and his 3rd Symphony. That fucker was so brilliant, he took music from the Classical era to the Romantic era in 16 measures! It doesn't hurt that we share the same birthday!

Anyway, I chose HUMOR AND HUMORISTS for this year. I'm gonna post about humor (Captain Obvious checking in) and humorous writers, past and present! I finished last year, but I don't usually plan anything beyond breakfast, so this should be interesting. Besides, I'm not that funny; my parents were hilarious! I was the Straight Man to those two! I look forward to doing this with you. We've had a lot of fun together!

Oh, and the hop-within-a-hop business drives me crazy. I get lost...

xoxo

@Seihren HOORAYZ!!! My days are always better with a Seihren Song!!! I'm glad you and Livefyre are getting along better now.

I think you are right about Watson's votes counting double. Final count? A bunches of votes FOR the use of F-bombs. Guess I gotta make that happen. Now there's all this build-up, haha, I'd hate to disappoint. Plus, I created a disclaimer I plan to include at the top of each post. Think that should keep me safe from the namby-pambies among us???

Andi Roo

@Ava Quinn  That is two... TWO for F-bombs. Can I get THREE? Anyone? Anyone?

haha -- thanks for your enthusiastic encouragement. Should be a fun month, Ava! :)

@TashaDDrake Hi, Tasha! Thanks for stopping by -- sorry for the delayed reply -- Livefyre ate some of my comments but now they have magically appeared from the abyss! :) Thanks for the sweet compliment. I'll be back by your place this month -- have patience -- I'm making the rounds and you're in my posse! :)

@SaraCSnider LMAO! You sound like my kind of people, Sara! I don't think it's wrong at all. Rather, I believe it means we have collectively a great sense of humor. And glitter! We have glitter! Because what are F-bombs, after all, but glittery speech?

@ViolaFury Mary, I have to argue with you on this -- you are HILARIOUS!!! And I think your theme is excellent. I can't wait to see your funny stuffs.

If it makes you feel any better, I have all my letters assigned except "J"... not that I can't think of something, I just haven't settled on anything quite right just yet. I'm sure it'll settle in by the time that day rolls around... RIGHT???!!!
